Governor Chris Christie and Mayor Matthew J. Doherty will break ground on the reconstruction of Belmar’s boardwalk, decimated by Hurricane Sandy.

In an aggressive approach to reconstruction, Belmar awarded the $6.6 Million dollar boardwalk contract Epic Construction of Piscataway, NJ in December 2012. The first piles driven on Wednesday mark the start of 1.3 miles of boardwalk construction to be completed by Memorial Day 2013.
This is the first major infrastructure project to commence at the Jersey shore in response to Hurricane Sandy. Please join us to see the first piles driven into the ground. Those wishing to attend may best reach the site via. 4th Avenue in Belmar.
