Winter Storm and No trash pickup Saturday, January 29th

Good afternoon, this is the Belmar Police Department with an important announcement for the residents of Belmar regarding the impending winter storm to arrive in our area.

A winter blizzard warning has been issued for our area this evening of Friday January 28th through the evening of Saturday January 29th. 

The national weather service is reporting blizzard conditions expected tonight through Saturday along the coast with strong wind gusts around 50 MPH, reduced visibility, and reported snowfall 15 to 24 inches.

First Energy is in storm mode and power outages are expected.This is a major snowstorm that will impact our area and we encourage you to prepare.

The Department of Public Works is preparing for the storm, and it is imperative that the snow emergency ordinance is followed.

If snowfall accumulates, vehicles must be removed from roadways as per borough ordinances Belmar Ordinance #19-10.

Residents may utilize any borough parking lots such as 601 Main Street, Dempsey Park and the parking lot located at 13th Ave and Railroad Avenue.

Belmar Recycling center will be closed Saturday the 29th and there will be no garbage pickup.
