PRESS ROOM DETAILS:
PURPOSE: The Borough of Belmar is seeking funding through the State of NJ Green Acres Program for improvements at Maclearie Park, located at 905 NJ-35 in Belmar.
PROJECT SCOPE: The Borough of Belmar proposes to create the following new facilities at Maclearie Park: Three new pickleball courts, an extension of the waterfront boardwalk along Shark River totaling 565 linear feet, and the addition of an inclusive playground next to the existing Ed Brown’s Playground. A concept plan, showing the proposed changes, a preliminary cost estimate, and an environmental impact assessment for the project can be found here:

PUBLIC HEARING INFORMATION: The public is encouraged to attend a public hearing to learn more about the proposal and to ask questions or provide comments on the proposed plan on Tuesday, February 6, 2024 at 6:30 p.m. The meeting will be in-person as a special council meeting.
